Lindsey L Evans

Lindsey L Evans is a Ph.D. candidate in public policy and administration in the Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she focuses on social equity, program evaluation, and policy analysis. She is engaged in several research initiatives designed to promote social equity and focuses on examining programs and policies aimed at eliminating disparities.

Within the Wilder School, Lindsey is also a senior research associate as part of a two-year grant funded by the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. This grant is focused on examining the practices within African American-led nonprofit organizations that most benefit the life outcomes of at-risk youths. Previously, Lindsey served as a program coordinator at The Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute where she was responsible for curriculum development and operational management of the VCU Leadership Development program. Additionally, she coordinated the Wilder Graduate Fellowship program where she provided administrative oversight, curriculum instruction, and served as liaison with community partners.

Since beginning her graduate studies, Lindsey has been very active in the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)-the largest and most prominent professional association for public administration. Most recently, she served as the conference co-chair for the 78th Annual ASPA Conference in Atlanta in 2017. Lindsey also served as the student representative on ASPA's National Council from 2015-2016. In addition to regularly presenting at regional and national conferences she was selected to participate in the 2014 ASPA Young Scholars Workshop hosted by Jilin University, P.R. China. Lindsey served as the coordinator for ASPA's Founders Fellowship program for the 2015 and 2016 program years and as co-chair of the Young Scholars Workshop in Cape Town, South Africa in 2016 and in Mexico City, Mexico in 2015.

Lindsey earned a bachelor's degree in political science and criminal justice from Georgia College & State University and a Master of Public Administration and graduate certificates in geographic information systems and preparing future faculty at VCU.
